rriving at my hotel, I check in. It is clean and neat with a coffee maker and a small refrigerator. This is great! I can keep a small amount of food in the room. This should save me both money as well as many missed meals. I have found that I am good at underestimating how easy it is to find something to eat when traveling so a stock of food is a good thing.
Vienna is sectioned into 23 districts all surrounding the 1st district located in the city center and in the center of the inner city is the Stephansdom (Stephansdom Cathedral). My hotel is located in the Landstraße district – or 3rd district – which is close enough to the 1st district to allow easy access but far enough away to have an affordable hotel.
Each day I will have to travel to the Wien Mitte station to catch a U Bahn (or continue the walk into the inner city). Tomorrow I will head into the city to explore and see what interesting and beutiful sights are waiting for me…
